I have finally got around to getting my new blog live! After years of toying around with hosting my own sites out of basements/dorm rooms, I have decided to get hosting. I got Xen hosting (hey; I still have to have something to play around with) for an extremely reasonable cost.

Exciting things today:

• Google app engine
• Take that, VC funding

Take that, naysayers.

Basic functionality of the site is there. There are, however, a few things to do (mostly merging in other apps):

• Get tags to work with links.
• Get a tag cloud.
• Get comments (threadedcomments)
• Get some photos up
• Integrate photos into blog text (ReST directive)
• Get the categories/archive menus up
• Add some other filters to blog entry.
