Hi all,
Every once and a while it occurs to me that I have not added to my blog in 6 months. It’s unfortunate since I have done so many different things, but I have no idea if anything is useful for you. A short list of things I have done in the past 9 months (in no particular order):
- Gone back to MIT
- Have switched my major to math (ostensibly 18C)
- Joined a cool frat
- Worked on a UROP (might get published soon)
- Worked for the College Board, talked with the president and learned a lot about tests
- Lived in NYC for a month
- Visited Washington DC for the first time in years
- Learned a bit of Chinese
- Taught myself a lot about various topics
But I want to do a lot more things in the near future, notably:
- Enjoy a cruise with Yalu
- Finish 4 or 5 courses
- Get published
- Learn how to write parallel algorithms
- Learn how to model complicated fluid systems
- Learn how to build a low level machine
So that’s it. If trends continue, I probably won’t be back here for another 6 months or so, but you can always contact me if you want.
Ow My Feet

This past weekend has been very fun and exciting. On Saturday Yalu and I went to the Galleria and then to the Boston Commons and Public Gardens. We relaxed under the hot sun and enjoyed the summer that the northeast can take from us without a moments notice.
Today was laundry day. I also like to air out my room when I’m around so when I went down to move my laundry around I left the door open instead of unlocking it. Doh! The wind closed the door while I was downstairs. My only solution was to walk to Yalu’s. I didn’t have a phone, wallet, or shoes. My only clothing was a swimsuit and a T-shirt. The walk was good, but it being barefoot it eventually burned my feet. I now have what amounts to second degree burns all over them.
In other news, I’ve left OS X. OS X was good at first, but my experiment with OS X has reached as far as it needs. 3 weeks is enough for anyone to realize that it’s just not ready. Maybe the next version of OS X, but Ubuntu is much, much more refined than OS X IMHO. I just installed Jaunty and it’s amazing.
World Development

Things are going well. I think I got a perfect score in my last test again. Is it offending when you hand in an hour test in 20 minutes? I usually spend a lot of time bored in my chair to make it seem like the test took longer than it actually did… on Tuesday I felt a bit restive though.
Not much to say, other than a friend showed me the awesome package that is MLPY and that the world is developing. (I find the last link hilarious.)
